The ProfiLux 4.1e Starter-Set 6E gives you everything you need to take real control of your aquarium – perfectly matched components, ready to run right out of the box. At the heart of the set is the ProfiLux 4.1e. The integrated temperature module and switchable pH/ORP input cover your two most critical water parameters from day one – with lab-grade GHL sensors already included. The built-in 32-channel illumination control lets you program sunrise and sunset cycles, moon phases, cloud cover, thunderstorms, and seasonal lighting sequences, creating a natural environment that supports the species-specific behavior of your animals.
Power management is handled by the included Powerbar 6E-PAB. Its six individually switchable sockets connect directly to the ProfiLux 4.1e via PAB, GHL’s CAN-bus-based device bus, for interference-free, cable-length-independent communication. Heaters, skimmers, return pumps, reactors – all switching events are monitored and controlled with precise timing.
The ProfiLux 4.1e extends connectivity beyond WiFi and USB with a dedicated LAN port (Ethernet) – the wired connection that demanding installations require. OTA firmware updates are applied wirelessly or via network, no USB cable needed. Monitor your aquarium from anywhere via the GHL Connect app (iOS/Android), the built-in webserver, or the myGHL cloud service. GHL Connect and GHL Control Center also run fully on your local home network – no internet connection required, no cloud dependency.
When your aquarium grows, the ProfiLux 4.1e grows with it. Expansion Cards add measurement inputs for pH, redox, conductivity, and more; the Expansion Box 2 connects via PAB to extend capacity further. GHL Dosers, KH Director, and ION Director all integrate natively. The ProfiLux 4.1e runs ProfiLuxOS – GHL’s own operating system, purpose-built for aquarium control, trusted by aquarists around the world for decades.
Difference Between ProfiLux 4.1 and ProfiLux 4.0
The ProfiLux 4.1 takes connectivity further versus the ProfiLux 4.0: in addition to WiFi and USB, it adds a LAN port (Ethernet) and supports OTA firmware updates – wirelessly or via network, no USB required.

Why Buy From ReefBum?
Number one, I have been a hobbyist for over 25 years who wrote a book on reef keeping best practices……so I can leverage this wisdom to provide expert advise on equipment purchases.
Secondly, I am the sole proprietor and employee of this company who can be contacted any day of the week to answer your questions about equipment sold on reefbum.com. Therefore, you will always deal with the same person who actually uses the equipment you buy. And if I don’t have an immediate answer I can reach out to the manufacturer to get an answer….I have direct communication pipelines with all of them.
Yes, I am a “mom & pop” shop that will not always beat pricing from the “big box” online reef stores. But think of me as your personal reef tank concierge who is always on call to help figure out a problem or just chat about reef tanks. Now that’s priceless!
